Firefox freezes every time I attempt to add data in either the URL textbox or the search textbox in the toolbar. When it freezes it also locks out the Task Manager. However, other running routines continue to run. I've disabled all my antivirus; still freezes. I've exited the Task Manager; still freezes and can't bring Task Manager up. While it freezes it's still possible to minimize the Firefox window or resize it. If I try to kill it I get a "Not Responding" message.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The suggestion solved my original problem. However, it surfaced another problem. The second problem: the Adobe flash plug-in crashes whenever I attempt to go to a full screen video. It plays fine in the small box; but crashes upon entry or shortly thereafter. I used the Firefox plug-in analyzer and it told me to get an upgrade of the plug-in. I did and it has the same problem. So for now I'm having to use IE for my default browser... bummer.

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

I attempted to follow directions in the URL's referenced. First, I hit the cntrl "0". It did not solve the problem. Then I went to a page that froze Firefox whenever I attempted to go to full screen. Whenever I did a right-click on the mouse the screen froze... so could never get to the "settings" in the context menu... So, still broke.
