Cannot restore prior session after setting option to "Never Remember History"
I want to restore saved windows and tabs. I reset the Privacy setting to "Never Remember History" and restarted Firefox once. Realizing my error I made a back up of the sessionrestore.bak file, then attempted to restore using "about:sessionrestore". This brings up the restore session page, but without any prior tabs. Editing the sessionrestore.bak file, I can see the script to the old tabs. Is there some editing I can do to this file to force the tabs to reappear in the Session Restore?

If you select "Never Remember History" then you enter Private Browsing mode and no data from that session is saved to disk and can't be restored.
You need to select "Remember History" and possibly use the custom choice to inspect tweak the settings.
If they are in the sessionstore.bak file and they aren't restored then check for recently closed tabs or windows, but you first need to go out of PB mode to make it possible to restore tabs.

The solution kind of worked. I had to switch out of the Private Browsing, quit FF, then copy the old sessionstore over the sessionstore.ps. Viola, the tabs returned. Many Thanks cor-el.
