The "Remember Password" extension has been reported to cause issues with the passwords disappearing, so if you have this extension then remove (uninstall) it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You would need a backup copy of the logins.json and key3.db (eencryption key) files if the passwords are really gone. You can check the logins.json file to see if the file contains password records.

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

Are the passwords the only thing missing?

Did you open the Passwords Manager and check? Type about:preferences#security<enter> in the address bar. Under Passwords, to its far right, press Saved Passwords.

If your preferences changed or some add-ons disappeared, can you check on your desktop for a folder named Old Firefox Data? If you have that, peek inside to see when the semi-randomly-named profile folder(s) were last updated. One of those might have your old settings.

(If you have such a folder, we can describe how to use data from it.)

There is nothing there, non of my save passwords are there. And, yes my passwords re the only thing that missing. I still have my history and bookmarks. The strange thing is that, I have a Firefox account and it must be synced.

Thank you for your reply. I don't use "Remember Password" extension and my theme is also default. Unfortunately the "logins.json" file is only contain my new passwords that I saved. :( I also went to safemode but nothing changed. I really cannot understand how is it possible to disappear when I synced it with firefox account. Should I give up?
