Not sure why at all - I keep getting a grey error bar at the bottom of the window. I have the error log file but can;t see how to attach it here.

hello, could you paste your logfile into a site like pastebin.mozilla.org and provide a link to it here in a reply on a forum? thank you...

Hey there, Let me ask you: do you use multiple Firefox browsers and/or sync accounts?

P.S: from what I can tell it's a typical user profile problem anyways, so you could try to verify if by using a new profile, everything goes okay. Here's what you can do: press the Windows key plus R and type "firefox.exe -P" (without quotes) and you'll get to the Profile Manager. Create a new profile and then try to use your sync account again. If everything works fine, then it's a problem with your profile, so go to C:/Users/<your username>/AppData/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/Profile (assuming you haven't created your profile on another folder, which wouldn't be too much of a good decision, or that it's just your default profile if you've just installed Firefox (would be useful to tell me what build are you using and whether it's a release, Beta, Aurora or Nightly at first as well) .

To get on the AppData folder, you'll have to type it, and then sort out what could be wrong at your user account if you don't want to lose it, so copy and paste the contents of the folder on another folder at first.

Then, pick up the sqlite file and put on the new account folder (copy and and paste) that you've created, that usually does it. It will have your history and bookmarks and passwords only however, so if you want to add anything else, just let me know and I'll answer ASAP.

hello, i have asked mozilla's sync developers about this sync log file and it looks like there's a malformed URI in the bookmarks database that they would like to investigate further. i have send you some information about that via PM in case you want to follow up on it...

thanks I'll give it a go when I have some spare moments!!

Indeed, it is exactly the SQLite file. Got in touch with them too, and well, it`s not exactly a bug, but I suggest you create another profile, really. The URI is malformed and it will do no good if you try using it again. You could trey to rest Firefox just to sort it all out. Also, I need more info on which version and what build are you using still/ and sorry for the late answer. I'm taking working on that bug.

I get this same error message intermittently. I haven't a clue what to look for at about:sync-log, so have pasted at http://pastebin.com/jynZWPMi.

Thanks for your help.
