Thunderbird saves another draft every 5 minutes
This started August 30, 2015. Thunderbird saves and keeps another draft of every message that I am composing to send. If it takes me a long time to compose the message there are many drafts. Often that has been the case because the calendar was stealing the focus from my composition faster than I could get it back. Now there are 94 drafts, nearly all of messages that I sent days ago. Rebooting the computer temporarily solves the focus theft problem, but now there are all these drafts. This question is intended to focus on the multiple drafts issue.

The problem is still there! I had given myself exactly the same problem by setting each draft folder to Local Folders/Drafts. Then when a draft is being produced under one of those accounts the draft is saved every 5 (default) minutes and Thunderbird creates a new draft copy in the Local Folder drafts. The answer is to simply leave draft folders being set to their 'host' account draft folder There should be a bug report filed!!
