My history erase it's own self and now it doesn't take in acount most of the website i go on
I have Firefox on a mac osx 10.8.5 I was on the internet and a window popup I coundn't close it and it took the full screen so I force my computer to turn off (something I had done before on similar occasion without it causing any problem). When I turned it on again, my history had been wipped out and when I started using my internet again most of the website I went to didn't appear in it, even this website doesn't appear on it, my resarsh don't appear on it. I went in preferences and all the settings were normal, so there's no reason for firefox to do that. Does anyone knows the solution to this? Having lost my former history isn't that much of a problem but I would like it to work normally now. PS: I'm french so sorry for the bad english.

Actually we offer no support for your version of OS X 10.8.5 as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-osx
Running version 27 of Firefox I have not a clue anymore as current version is 56.0.1
Try installing over top if you have the installer still or grab something from here https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ you can go as high as version 48 but if trying to save what you have go to Help -->About and make sure which version you are running.
Other thing is to Google using keywords such as : Firefox 27 support + your problem and see if can find any archived support pages.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
If there is a reason you are using an old version, we can give you a link to newer versions if you don't want to use the current.
Note: When the computer loses power without shutting down first, this can cause the hard drive to contaminate/corrupt files.
Mac OS X 10.8 Firefox 27.0
That's not an "old version", that is an ancient version from Feb 2014 - over 3 1/2 years old.
IMO, the "fix" is to delete the places.sqlite file in the Profile folder with Firefox closed. When Firefox is launched it will create a new Places file and then restore bookmarks from the most recent backup file. Browsing history and Downloads history will be lost, but Bookmarks should be restored into the new Places file.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/versions/ Places Maintenance Version 1.3.1-signed - might work for that antique version, so the OP might try that before deleting the places.sqlite file. Released February 8, 2012 6.0 KiB Works with Firefox 8.0 - 43.*
Mac OS 10.8.5 will run on the ESR Firefox version 45, which you can download from here :
