When I want to send an attachment with an e-mail, the attachment link is not activated. This does not happen when I access my hotmail on Explorer.

Do you have "Microsoft Silverlight" plugin-in installed? If you do, disable it and see if it works for your Hotmail, it did for mine:
Tools > Add-ons and look for "Silverlight" plug-in.
Good call silkphoenix, that was the solution!
Disabling silverlight worked for me, as well. Thank you very much. Now the silverlight add on needs to be worked on to agree with hotmail as we need to use that add on for a variety of things as we are online.
