or how does one enable this? I've tried the phony add-on, but hotmail/outlook continues to only display in desktop mode. It's practically unusable in this mode. I am trying to use the mobile version of the site on my phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII running Android 4.1.1.

Outlook would need to support Firefox for Android. Contact the Outlook support team and request that they support Firefox for Android.

You can try installing the Phony extension and setting it to desktop Firefox. This will load the desktop version of outlook.com. This may allow you to interact with your mail.

thanks for the response. I've no problem getting the desktop site on my phone--I'm looking for the mobile site. Phony doesn't work. Other browsers (native Android, Opera) don't have any problems accessing Outlook's mobile site. This is why I'm wondering if Firefox is able to address it.

Firefox only parses what Outlook sends to us. The Outlook web development team makes assumptions about the mobile browsers (i.e. using webkit code) then there is nothing Firefox can do to make the bad code work.

it seems to me if firefox wants people to use its browser , they would find a way to make it work with a site as major as hotmail. This is a total deal breaker for me , if I cant check my email on the go then that browser is useless to me. I also hate when one company tells you you have to speak to another company in order to make their product work. MS is far more apt to listen to mozilla then a couple of users ...........
