I can't delete a favorite imported from "Firefox" into "IE 11". Why?
I uninstalled Firefox and started using IE 11. I imported my saved HTML bookmarks into IE. ONE folder used "***" (asterisks) in the title of the folder. When it was imported into IE, the "***" were replaced with "spaces", since IE cannot use that type of character as part of the title.
i.e. I titled the folder "***Flight Planning***". IE cannot use "***". So it now looks like " Flight Planning ". Just spaces. I tried renaming, deleting, and re-importing. It won't delete.
When I try to deleting it says "This is no longer located in c:\users\~...~\Favorites\". When I try renaming it, it says "This is no longer located in c:\users\~...~\Favorites\" or "could not find this item".
How do I delete it?

This is a support forum for Firefox and Thunderbird. If the following doesn't answer your question, ask on the appropriate forum:
Internet Explorer keeps favorites as individual .URL files. You should be able to delete the file manually.
- Exit Internet Explorer.
- Click the Windows logo orb on the taskbar to bring up the Start Menu.
- In the top right corner, right-click your user name and choose Open.
- In the Windows Explorer window that opened, open the Favorites folder.
- Delete the favorite you want to get rid of.
You clearly didn't read what I put above. This reads like a scripted response. I tried THAT. It WON'T delete manually. I need a REGEDIT or other forced method to get a folder within Favorites to delete. I found the problem. That was easy. Finding a solution is NOT. Help?
It was all painstakingly typed manually. I've read that you tried removing the favorite from inside Internet Explorer. I see no mention that you tried opening the Favorites folder in Windows Explorer and deleting the .URL file from there.
As far as I know, only the location of the Favorites folder is stored in the registry, not the favorites themselves. As I said, this is a Firefox support forum and if the above doesn't solve your problem, you should refer to the Internet Explorer support forum.
