Video dowloads have gone. Where?
I'm new to Video Downloader but I seem to be having a problem with the downloads. On one occasion only I got a list up showing what I had downloaded which was great. I have no idea where that list might now be hiding or how to find it. I have selected Downloads as the place where they should all go. Today I downloaded a couple of things and when I came to play them (from Downloads) I got the titles which then disappeared immediately and then nothing else. I use Firefox browser to download. Can someone help?

Did they disappear, or you can't find them? If disappeared, from what folder?
What downloader are you using? Open its options and see where downloads are stored.
Doesn't the Video DownloadHelper extension use the dwhelper folder by default ?
Thanks for the replies. I hope you are avoiding any undesirable viruses, here in Spain it is running rampant. I have not been out for 2 weeks and NO I don't need loo roll.
The replies help up to a point. Fred, they have disappeared and I don't know where to find them. They are not in the Downloads folder. Not even knowing a file name I am stumped as to where to look. I have tried all the usual places where videos could be. I am using the Firefox Downloader and Downloads is where things are supposed to go. I use Firefox as my browser so I download using that by clicking on the two balls/grapes at the top RHS.
Not sure if I'm using it right either. When can you actually download? Can you do it while watching whatever it is or do you have to pause the video. I usually decide to download when it's running if it's worth saving.
The last two downloads did not run. I got the titles (from Downloads folder), clicked on it and it flashed up for a couple of seconds and there was nothing else there.
Cor-el can you give me some more on that please? Where is the dwhelper folder?
Thanks gehap. Having just replied to my other posters I'll wait and see what they say first.
DO NOT use any phone numbers for Firefox support. They have nothing to do with Mozilla.
This download manager works separately from the
browser. The browser tells it what to download,
and off it goes.
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.
Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar Look for Files And Applications.
Turn on Save Files To and complete the location setting.
Thanks for the advice on phone numbers.. You just don't know who is lurking out there.
I'll try everything tonight including some downloads and also look at the manager tonight.
Thanks again.
I'm on Linux and there I had this folder from when I used this extension in the dwhelper folder in my home directory, listed directly under the Firefox Downloads folder (on Linux folder names are case sensitive).
On Windows this would be, but you can do a search in Windows Explorer:
- C:\Users\<user>\dwhelper
