when opening Thunderbird I get the message "downloading 67 emails....." but they do not download, though I can access them on the website version.
All fine with my Thunderbird until recently but for the last week I cannot either download emails or send them except on the website version. On Home Email I get the "checking inbox" message and then message "downloading message 1 of 67 to home email" as usual and activity Manager records checking of Inbox, with the correct time. no problems at all accessing the web version. Please can you suggest anything? Many thanks!

Thanks Matt, much appreciated. I had actually managed to work it out for myself a few days ago and once it had cleared reinstating email scanning has not caused a problem (though Norton got very upset at the time...). Good to know that was the only likely cause, will make it quicker next time! best wishes Lorna
