How to fix right click?
Screenshot: http://s27.postimg.org/vqrn6vxk3/firefox_bug.png
When I select some text, right click on it, the menu that appears is totally messed up. Sometimes it has blank fields and the copy option is missing. Also, when I right click on a link and choose "open in a new tab" nothing happens, it doesn't open the link in a new tab. I have tried restarting Firefox in safe mode and the problem still persists. I have uninstalled all plugins and reinstalled firefox from scratch and the problem is still there. I have deleted my firefox profile and created a new one and the problem is still there! I use Linux Mint 17.1 and I uninstalled/reinstalled firefox from package manager. This problem just came to be one day and I have no idea why.
After removing firefox completely some mozilla specific files still remained in my system: hyena@hyena-Vostro1710 /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins $ ls flashplugin-alternative.so libtotem-gmp-plugin.so libjavaplugin.so libtotem-mully-plugin.so libtotem-cone-plugin.so libtotem-narrowspace-plugin.so hyena@hyena-Vostro1710 /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins $
I did not dare to delete those files since it required root privileges. I have attached a screenshot of the problem.

Try the version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
You can find the full version of the current Firefox 35.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

When I created this question the image uploading kept failing, so I'm adding the screenshot as a reply.
Try it in the Firefox SafeMode. Use Firefox Safe Mode for troubleshooting

OP reporting in. Downloaded firefox binaries from the official server. It works now! Interestingly I can use my old profile the way it was so the firefox that comes with my linux distribution is somehow broken. Now I must figure out how to replace the distribution's firefox with the one I got from the official server. Anyway, thanks for help!
