The bookmark bar, search window and toolbar are on a translucent background which is partially hiding the theme image. It is possible to remove the translucent background or make it transparent and display the bookmark bar etc directly on to the theme?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

You can try a solid lightweight theme (Persona).

You can choose to have some menu bars to not display until you want.

I have tried hiding the menu bars but it doesn't really help.

Normal Firefox may not do what you want, but to try, Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. Now look at the clip below.

Many of us are using; Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) {web link} Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).

This will restore many of the things the last upgrades took away.

I'm not sure what scren area you are talking about.

There is the top area with the menu bar that is under control of the Mac OS and thus can't be modified within Firefox. And there is the Firefox window that has the lightweight theme (Persona) as the background image. The toolbar area has an opacity that makes it look fainter. Is it that area that you mean?

Yes it is. In previous Firefox upgrades the bookmark bar and toolbar were superimposed directly on to the Persona/theme.
