my calender is gone with the new update 38.5.0
when thunderbird updated to 38.5.0 my calendar disappeared. Lightning is not in the add ons.

I think you mean, reinstall. But the user should not need to do this.
dschaal, did this also happen to you when you updated an earlier version, like from 38.3.0 to 38.4.0?
This only happened on the 38.5.0 update.
