Mac OS X 10.6.8, updated Friday to Thunderbird 45. Now I just get the spinning ball and cannot receive email in either of two accounts. Not sure about sending. No error messages. Tried fresh install of Thunderbird, to no avail. Ideas????

Does the problem go away if you have started Thunderbird in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode

Unfortunately, running in Safe Mode has not resolved the problem. Thanks for the suggestion... It was helpful, in that I learned a new troubleshooting technique.

Any more ideas??? I can receive email on my iPad, so it isn't the mail server.
