Hi All,

In thunderbird, I use Body Text with Calibri font for sending messages. But when I receive a reply to my message from someone, I see that my message which I had sent earlier in the email, had all its font changed, with sizes. This is not only with one person, this happens to almost any email ID I send, whether to somebody having a gmail ID, or a hotmail ID, or a yahoo ID or a company domain. Can someone advice please?

Thanks.

LS

You are aware that fonts have to be installed on the recipients machine to display I assume.

So unless you are writing exclusively to Windows users I suggest a more web safe font. This article is for web pages, but applies equally to email as both use HTML. http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/what-is-a-web-safe-font/

Then there is the issue of size. Thunderbird specifies nt sizes in Pixels, where a number is used. but by default tried to simply stick with the HTML normal size. That allows the recipient device to set the size based on it's resolution and screen size, just as your web browser tends to show you pages sized according to your device. The developer specified the size in the most basic way possible.

One of the driving reasons for PDF files is they are about the only way to send something electronically and expect the recipient will see exactly what you see. HTML and Email are not truly WYSIWYG.
