I set my firefox to default to clear an issue. Now all my bookmarks are gone. I've gone into user/dataapp and there is no file. How can I restore?

I set my firefox back to default to clear some issue and now all my bookmarks are gone. It wiped Firefox clean. I had TONS of bookmarks and want them back. Googled and tried several suggestions to get them back - restore/pick a date - and the only date available was today. No previous dates to pick from. I don't know if I created a new/clean profile in Firefox? But I am not seeing any bookmarks anywhere. I've looked for USER/dataapp file on my C drive - not there. Where are these bookmarks?

Would restoring my computer from a backup hard drive bring them back? I'm frantically trying to figure this out. My whole life is in these bookmarks. I would rather wipe my computer out than have to recreate all those bookmarks.

Lesson learned. Will backup my bookmarks in the future.

Hi, in case a refresh has occurred, please look on your Desktop for a file named Old Firefox Data - Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.

Also, just to make sure you've gone about it in the right way, please see -

This won't help you now, but if you have a lot of important bookmarks, it's worth backing them up manually every so often, and it only takes a minute: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Backup, and save them to somewhere convenient on your computer - or for even greater security, plug a flashdrive in, and copy them to that as well. If you ever need to restore them: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore.

If you have a hard drive backup and it is a System Image - or at least contains all your C drive files, you should be able to restore that way.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
