I have Windows 10 and use Bing as my search engine. I have to change Bing preferences (ie search suggestions) for each session. How can I make them stay?

more options

I've been told this is a browser issue. I have looked at all preference possibilities in Bing and Firefox and not found the place to make my search engine preferences -- such as no search suggestions popping up, not filtering results, identifying my location to refine results, etc. -- stay after I leave Firefox or shut off my computer. When I go on line again, everything has reverted to the Bing default.

There are two possibilities:

(1) Your Bing preferences are stored in your Bing account and you need to be logged into Bing for them to be applied

(2) Your Bing preferences are stored in a cookie set by bing.com and those preferences will only be in effect until your bing.com cookies are cleared

I suspect it's #2. One reason your Bing cookies might be removed when you exit out of Firefox is if you have that option selected on the Options page, Privacy panel. Another would be if you use automatic private browsing. Some add-ons and external utility software also may clear Firefox cookies. Does any of that sound like it could be worth investigating?

A possible starting point: Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track
