I have followed the instructions at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-lightning-google-calendar#w_read-and-write-access to install the Firefox add-on “Provider for Google Calendar” and have created a Google calendar within Lightning.

When I create new events on either the "Lightning side” or the "Google side”, the new events show up in both calendars, that is in the Lightning calendar on my desktop Mac and also when I log into the Google calendar on my Android.

My Lightning calendar contains many events (it is my principal calendar and I have been using it for years). Is there a way to export these existing events (or a subset thereof, for example from the 1 May 2018 and onwards) from the Lightning to the Google calendar

Thanks for your help.

Hi Matt, Thank you for that. It pretty much did the trick except that when the Lightning Calendar updated from the Google-based calendar, some events showed up double.

I'm happy with the result though because it achieved my main goal, namely, to get my entire Lightning calendar onto the Google server so that I could view it on my Android phone.

It's only important to fix the double entries on the Lightning side from 1 May 18 onwards and that's not much manual work.

So thanks again.

use the export option on the Events and tasks menu to export the calendar as an ICS file.

Then use the Google web interface to import the ICS calendar to the google calendar.

If you exported the events from the Lightning Home calendar to the gmail calendar they will show double. Once on the default home calendar and once on the gmail calendar you added. Lightning starts with the default Home calendar. Each calendar you add is a separate calendar that displays in Lightning. There is a sidebar on the left side that lists all the calendars and has check boxes to make them display or not. If you do not see that go to the View menu and turn it on. When you add events that you want to see from other devices be sure you select the gmail calendar from the drop down menu and not the Home menu. Anything added to the Home menu is only displayed locally.

simply deselect your "home" calendar in the list. Once disabled the contents will not be shown. Or at least I do not think so.

You could also right click the calendar and select delete.
