I can log in to my bank's internet banking website, but not access any of the services. I can't even properly log out again.

Whenever I try to view my account from the "account overview"/homepage I am getting the message

"Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit."

This happens AFTER I log in to my account, when I try to look at my account balance or make a payment - or even when I try to log out. Interestingly it does not happen if I want to check something that requires a new tab to be opened. That works ok.

All other sites I use are working correctly.

My bank says it is most like an incompatibility with the latest version of Firefox - and can only offer the option to uninstall and reinstall Firefox or use another browser. (I have a back-up browser which does function properly.) I am running Firefox 75.0 on Windows 7 Professional - I have some work programs that don't work with more recent Windows versions. The last time I was able to use my internet banking through Firefox was 7th April.

Let's start with:

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

I have already cleared the cache - 3 times. That was the first thing I tried. It has had no effect. I have also cleared ALL my browsing history as well - twice.

Since the problem started after the last update I am assuming it is an incompatibility between my bank's website and Firefox.

For now I will use Chrome instead to do my banking, and see if either my bank or Mozilla can work out what the problem is. If the next Firefox update doesn't sort it, maybe I will have to move everything else over to Chrome as well.

That would be a shame, as I find Firefox v usefull, with services I don't seem to find on Chrome. But I need to be able to use my internet banking. I run a business - it's not just my personal account I am talking about.

Please provide a public link (no password) that we can check out. No Personal Information Please !

I don't see how you can check it out without actually getting in to the site - and you need an ID and a password to do that.
