Memory Use Very High With 1 Tab Open
While playing one of those free poker games there seems to be excessive RAM memory usage. Nothing else running which can account for it. Also, it shows several Firefox processes while, again, there's only one tab open.
The reason I noticed is that the game which usually runs smoothly began to be choppy/jerky, so I opened Task Manager to have a look. Note: Didn't investigate internet connection speed.
Why is Firefox using so much memory and slowing things down?

I solved the problem by turning off the adblocker on the game webpage. They run a series of repeating ads in a box in the bottom right corner of the page. The box would flash or blip each time my browser blocked an ad, and my Task Manager would show another increase in the amount of memory in use. It's as though the browser was storing up these ads in some way, though I can't imagine why. I disabled the adblocker for that webpage, then closed the browser and reopened it to that same page. Now the amount of memory in use remains steady at around 4GB total. Now, to block the ads I cover only the bottom right corner of the page with a re-sized (small) Windows Media Player window which is set to always remain on top of other windows. An audio mute button on the ad area itself kills the annoying sound of the ads. Problem solved. Thanks.

It's normal for Firefox to run as multiple processes which prevents one tab from crashing the entire browser.

As for the high RAM usage issue: Check the about:performance (Firefox's own Task Manager) to verify what is hogging the most memory.
To clear up some memory usage, go to about:memory Inside the Free memory box, click the Minimize memory usage button
Try disabling Accessibility Service as well. See: Disable Accessibility Service
