Hi everyone!

I have an issue migrating my data from thunderbird. (sorry if my english gets messed up, it's not my native language) All the steps from [article] have been followed without succes.

My Windows PC completely crashed. But my data is ok. I have now a MacBook Pro and I'm trying to move my old data from Windows to my new Mac. What I'm doing

  • connecting old Windows HDD via USB
  • Looking for thunderbird folder with my data
  • opening FINDER and looking for "thunderbird" folder where my data is storaged
  • Paste, replace, accept.

When it's done, I open thunderbird and it has no data, even though I create a profile with my email and info, when I do the last steps, everything is gone and the old data is not restored.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong... any clues?

Kind regards and thank you for the support.

Find the profile folder on the PC in ...AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles. The profile folder is a subfolder of Profiles named like xxxxxxxx.default. On the Mac, Help/More Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Show in Finder. Close TB and delete the contents (not the folder) of the profile folder. Copy in the contents of xxxxxxxx.default. Delete pkcs11.txt (so passwords work). Start TB. Does it show all your data?
