My prior Firefox had a feature that would save my id/passwords as I access a site and would automatically input this info. when I again accessed the site. Where did this go?

The current Firefox seems to have a password manager that would allow what I mentioned in the above question. I have not been able to use this feature. How is this feature activated? How do I know if I currently have this feature. My list of add-ons includes one called the idle login. If this is suppose to remember passwords, how does it function. I can't get this to work.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Uncheck: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
