All of a sudden I cannot open any Gmail messages if I am in Firefox. The Inbox comes up with all the message titles, but when I click on any of them I just get the title with a blank window below. If I am in the Chrome browser when I use Gmail, there is no problem. I prefer Firefox to Chrome, but I can't use it if I can't access my Gmail messages with it. Is Firefox 8.0 not in sync with Gmail????

Thanks Yorknyc! Trying to reply to or forward a message didn't make it visible to me, but trying to print it did! So I hit print to look at a few messages, and then the whole problem went away. No idea why, but just happy to have all my messages visible.

I have the same problem in both my gmail accounts. I can only see the titles and previews in my gmail inbox, but the messages are blank when i open them. I downloaded the new gmail look, and it worked fine for a week or so. Then, yesterday, one account had this problem. Now, today, both accounts are down. However, I can view everything fine in Explorer; so, I know it is a Firefox glitch. I strongly prefer Firefox to other browsers; but, as gmail is my main online communication source, I'll have to use whatever works best with it. I really hope Firefox can fix this issue; in the meantime, it seems that the messages can still be viewed if you try to reply or forward them. Then, they appear all of a sudden.

You probably are using the AdBlock Plus extension. Go into AdBlock's preferences and update your subscription(s). The issues should go away.

Thanks, peacedog. I saw your message after I had tried yorknyc's solution (or a variant of it).

Thanks to both of you KRC519 and Peacedog. I'm glad your accts. are working again. Both mine seem to have resolved themselves on their own as well. Perhaps it was a glitch with the new Firefox 8 update afterall as I don't have AdBlock installed. Thanks for posting. Have a great day.

Like many people it seems those of us in Firefox are having trouble connecting to gmail. I have been using for years until yesterday when to no avil could I get on. I read everthing on this site and was stunned to discover so many people have the problem. I went through all the suggested solutions like clearing cache etc etc etc but no good. What I did discover it isn't just email we can't (well at least I can't) access google pages after the first level ie if you do a search for a google document it will come up but when you go to click on something inside the document is just goes into the same spin until connection fails. I need my mail so I loaded Evolution for my main gmail box....it took about 3 hours to do but hey I have mail again. I still use Firefox because I think it's great......but I hope they soon work out why it is failing to connect properly to Google and especially Gmail. Good Luck everyone. Carpediem

About a week ago, Mozilla Firefox would not let me into my gmail account nor

my facebook account. It told me that both places did not have an updated security
certificate. On my sons HP laptop, I can get into my gmail & facebook with no
problem. I don't know which version of Firefox I am using. I have not received any
info on Firefox Updates so far to date. Any suggestions ?
